Under the Sea competition

We had a very successful competition weekend on 5/6 April at the club. There were lots of achievements, from medals and trophies to competing a routine or skill for the first time. Well done to everyone who took part!

AGM

Our annual AGM is due to take place on Saturday 10th May at 10am in the parents’ room. All parents are invited to attend. There will be reports from the chair, secretary, treasurer and head coach. Following the reports, parents will have a chance to chat with Sarah and/or Catherine about any questions or issues you may have. If you cannot attend, you can pass your vote to one of our parent representatives, Moira Owens-Smith or Laura Anstey.

Assessment weeks

We have just finished our April assessment week. We had lots of children complete their level and earn ticks for new skills. If your child was in and didn’t receive a slip, you can view their progress on your JoinIn account. As a reminder, here are the assessment week dates for the rest of the year;

  • 14th -19th July
  • 22nd-27th September
  • 1st – 6th December

Summer Display

Entries for our annual summer displays are now open. In our summer displays, each class does a group routine to music to showcase their skills. This is a non-competitive event and the theme this year is ‘feel good tunes’. The displays will take place on Sunday 6th July. Times will be confirmed when we have all the entries in. Entry costs £15 and includes one spectator. You can find the entry in our club shop. Entries close on 18th May and we cannot accept any late entries.

Level 2 coach

Congratulations to Sophia, who passed her level 2 coaching exam. We now have 12 level 2 or above coaches at our club! If you are interested in coaching, judging or helping in any other way, please let us know.

May holiday clubs

We are going to be running holiday clubs on weeks beginning 26th May and 2nd June. Look out for more information coming on Friday and posters in the gym. We are also finalizing our schedule for summer holiday clubs so will be able to let you know about that very soon. Hopefully, there will be something available for everyone but if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

Clothing

Please remember that club policy is that children should wear leotards or t-shirts and shorts or leggings for classes. Crop tops are not allowed and anything with zips, buttons or buckles is also not suitable. While the weather is hot, please try to avoid sending your child in a long sleeved leotard and make sure your child brings a water bottle.
