Under the Sea 2026 – Everything You Need to Know!
We’re so excited to welcome our members to this year’s Under the Sea 2026 competition — a fun, confidence‑building weekend designed for every gymnast in our club, from our tiniest Reception beginners to our advanced recreational gymnasts and squad members.
Whether this is your child’s first competition or they’re a seasoned competitor, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know before booking and attending.
📅 Competition Dates
Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th April 2026
📍 Penketh Gymnastics Club, Guardian Street, Warrington WA5 1SJ
⏰ Times TBA (A full programme will be sent after entries close — please keep the full day free.)
🧜♀️ Who Can Enter?
This event is open to all members of Penketh Gymnastics Club — yes, even brand‑new Reception gymnasts!
Here’s how the weekend is structured:
✨ Saturday 18th April — Reception–Set 6 & All Boys Sets

- Plus some Advanced Rec gymnasts
- All boys sets compete on Saturday
✨ Sunday 19th April — Squads & Advanced Rec (with music)

💜 What should they wear?
If your child has a club leotard, please have them wear it. If not, they can wear any leotard, or T-shirt and shorts/leggings. Club leotards are available to purchase in the gym. We have two options, our Rose leotard with ‘Penketh’ in sparkles on or our newest super sparkly Rocsa leotards which are covered in sparkles and a replica of our squad competitive leotards.
Hair should be neat and away from their face. No jewellery.
🔢 Why do they need a number & what is it for?
Each gymnast will have a competition number next to their name on the programme. This number helps judges keep track of performances.
We encourage gymnasts to decorate their number in an Under the Sea theme!
Approx size: A4 paper
Avoid materials like glitter, cotton wool, or anything that could mark the gym floor.
There will even be a Best Decorated Number award in each round!
☕ Will there be refreshments?
Absolutely! The kitchen will be open selling Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks and tuck shop goodies Discounts available for those bringing a reusable mug!
🤚 Can I volunteer to help?
Yes please! We always need volunteers to help things run smoothly. If you can spare some time to:
- Help decorate the gym on Friday 17th March
- Help in the kitchen serving refreshments on either day of the competition.
